Arabs religious & social beliefs before Islam

Read how Islam changed the following dehumanizing practices:
They were worshiping idols
Each family had its own idol
There was an idol for each problem and need
They would prostrate, lean, seek refuge, cry and yell to it for help
They were slaughtering animals for the sake of idols
They were spending wealth and crops for the sake of idols
They would spare some camels from being used or milked
Some camels were forbidden for women allowed for men
They believed in countless superstitions and fantasies
They would use two arrows for making a dicision; one arrow was “yes” the other was “No
They used this for travel, marriage and etc to find the correct choice
If “No” arrow was picked they would delay the work for one year
They were also doing gambling of different types by using arrows
Bringing food while visiting the Kaaba was not allowed
Men and women would nakedly circulate around the Kaaba in Mecca
They would enter home by making a hole in a room after returning from the rituals
They considered girl child as a stigma and shame for the father, thus would bury her alive
Their individual, social and political life was heavily influenced by these creeds
People in other parts of the world were also suffering from their religious creeds.
The teachings of Quran revealed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) changed all this condition miraculously:
إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَهْدِي لِلَّتِي هِيَ أَقْوَمُ وَيُبَشِّرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا كَبِيرًا.
“Surely, this Qur’an guides to something that is most straightforward, and gives glad
Tidings to the believers who do good deeds that ready for them there is a great
reward.” Quran: 17:9
